Some of the most integral factors weighed when deciding on an MBA program can also be the hardest to predetermine before applying. The Rady School of Management is proud to introduce our six current student MBA ambassadors who are eager to provide prospective students first-hand knowledge of what matters to you – the topics that aren’t as simple to glean from a website, program ranking or online tour.
Rady’s Ambassadors serve as a peer-to-peer resource to help you navigate if the Rady School’s student life, academics, culture and more are the right fit for you and your MBA needs. Over the coming weeks we’ll feature a student MBA ambassador, their Rady story and their advice to prospective students. We encourage you to reach out to any of the ambassadors to learn more about their experience or schedule a call, in-person meeting or Rady School tour.

Favorite Rady memory so far
Can’t just choose one! My two favorite memories have been Rady’s Halloween party this year at the Waterfront downtown and this past spring’s trivia night event on campus.
Why Rady Was the Right Choice for You
After visiting the school, I felt like I really connected with the student body, atmosphere, and faculty compared to my visits at other schools. With my goal to be in the technology industries, I also realized that Rady’s strong connection to the biotech/high tech industries complimented these goals. Personally, the small cohort size and openness of the Rady administration to still try new things (since it’s still a relatively new business school) made me feel as though I can significantly impact the MBA experience for myself and the entire Rady community. Therefore, these opportunities and connections alone made me realize that Rady was the right choice for me.
Piece of Advice for Someone Interested in Applying to Rady
Come visit the classes and meet with us to talk about any questions you have and our experiences in the program. Business school is a huge investment, and doing the research and visits up front will make for an even stronger application and interview. Also, these interactions will help you to adequately decide if the program at Rady is the right program for you.
Hobbies/Favorite Things to Do in San Diego
There’s a lot to do here! My favorite activities are to go hiking throughout the county, trying out new foods and restaurants (especially mom and pop places), visiting local coffee shops to get things done, and attending concerts downtown in the Gaslamp area.
Favorite Rady Course and Why
New Product Development with Professor Michael Meyer. The class made me see the creation and testing of products in a new light. It was really fun talking about companies like Harley Davidson and Sony, and I had a blast coming up with new products with my team.
Looking Towards the Future
With about a half year left of the MBA program, I’m surprised that graduation is just around the corner because the time has definitely flown by! When looking back at my experience, I can honestly say that I have learned so much the past 1 1/2 years that I’m ready to reenter the workforce with plenty of new skill sets and perspectives. In addition, I am thankful for all of the great, fun memories I have experienced with the Rady community. Luckily, we still have a half year left to have a great end to the MBA program! Be sure to reach out to us to gain our insight, because we have plenty to talk about!
